Mei Semones today announces her long awaited Australian debut tour this June. Signing to Brooklyn-based record label Bayonet Records (Beach Fossils), Semones released her debut album Animaru under the label in 2025, and received worldwide recognition for her songwriting that features a seamless, fluttering mix between English and Japanese lyrics. Mei describes her style of writing as something that comes with whatever feels natural to her at the time. As a former jazz student at Berklee - Mei finds herself drawing inspiration from adored transcripts, recordings and chord progressions she has heard over the years.

With her forthcoming EP Kurage on the way with an April 10th release date - you can hear a taste of what’s to come with newest single ‘Koneko’. A collaboration with British-Brazilian artist Liana Flores, ‘Koneko’ is a bossa-nova inspired song that celebrates the simple and pure joy of friendship.
