The Stems are one of Australia's most influential garage rock bands, roaring out of Perth in the mid-'80s with a sound that captured the raw spirit of '60s garage punk, fuzzed-out guitars and timeless power pop. Formed in 1983 by Dom Mariani, the band quickly became one of the defining names of Australian independent rock alongside acts such as The Hoodoo Gurus and The Sunnyboys.

Their classic debut album At First Sight, Violets Are Blue (1987) is widely regarded as one of the great Australian records of its era, earning national and international acclaim and later being named by Rolling Stone among the Top 100 Australian Albums of All Time. Since reforming in the early 2000s, The Stems have continued to build a reputation for electrifying live performances while remaining as vital and influential today as ever.

Having played The Corner before, it's only fitting that The Stems return as part of our 30th birthday celebrations. For three decades, The Corner has been at the heart of Australia's live music scene, championing legendary artists alongside the next generation of talent. As we celebrate 30 years, we're thrilled to welcome back one of Australia's true garage rock icons.
