We’re stoked to welcome Immigrant Union and Eils & The Drip to the bandroom for a massive FREE entry show next Sat 21 Jun.
Immigrant Union have been a mainstay on the Australian psych - rock - folk scene for over a decade. Featuring Brent of The Dandy Warhols and alumni such as Courtney Barnett, the band has toured the world and has shared stages with Noel Gallagher, BRMC, The Lemonheads and Wolfmother just to name a few. Catch them for their return show at the Corner on Saturday the 21st of June!
Eils & The Drip are a Melbourne based six-piece formed by vocalist/songwriter Eileen Hodgkins (aka Eils). Eileen is a prolific figure on the local scene who, at the age of 13, hit the road with her three siblings in family band Perch Creek. A couple of years ago, having written a collection of songs and recording them in a shag-pile share-house lounge room, Eileen brought together a few friends and former Perch Creek band mates to form Eils & The Drip. With Eileen's partner Rick Steward featuring prominently on lap steel guitar and sister Camilla Hodgkins on keys, the new outfit's sound is rich and full and features plenty of harmonies – at times with a twang reminiscent of Neil Young’s Harvest, Dylan’s Nashville Skyline or classic Emmylou Harris. With a couple of singles under their belt, supports for the likes of JET!, Sierra Ferrell, Uncle Lucius, Sweet Talk and appearances at major festivals including Boogie, Queenscliff Music Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Darwin Festival and Brunswick Music Festival behind them, Eils & The Drip have established a strong presence in Melbourne's thriving new generation of the inner city country/roots revival scene. They bring a raw and relentless energy to the stage, one not to be missed.
